HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
SHE’S HERE!
Our family grew by one last week with the arrival of Natalie’s sister, Rylynn Grace. 8 lbs. 5 ounces and 20 inches long. She has the chubbiest cheeks and is so darn cute.
Everyone is doing great and getting settled into a new routine at home. 13 years between the girls is going to be interesting and fun.
I am so happy for them all and feel truly blessed for this wonderful addition to our family. I can’t wait to meet her in person!!
In other news, I met with my favorite infectious disease physician on Thursday. I am tolerating the antibiotics much better than when I started. All my numbers are moving in the right direction. He checked the incisions and said they looked “great”. I am to stay on the IV antibiotics until Friday. Then the PICC line will be removed, and I will start on a 30 day test of an oral antibiotic to make sure I have no side effects. I was told as a child that I was allergic to penicillin, but I can’t remember what reaction I had, so he wants to be extra careful with what he prescribes.
Then in the afternoon, I met with the Hand and Upper Extremity team. They concurred that the incisions looked “great”. They removed all the stitches and said the incisions no longer needed to be bandaged but they wanted me to keep wearing the splint for another week, UGH! but I could take it off when I was not active. Basically, when I am sitting in my recliner. I probably will still wear it past the 1 week when I go to bed because I tend to use that arm to get to my sleep position, and the splint protects it. At least until it is fully healed. Barring any problem, the team has released me, leaving Infectious Disease in charge.
I am still working hard to get my reading back on track and catch up on reviews. I can’t believe how long it is taking. One night, I can stay up late reading, the next, I fall asleep right after supper. I am hoping that when the 3 a.m. infusions end, my body will get back to its normal rhythm.

HAPPY EASTER!!
Rylynn Grace is adorable! I hope the antibiotics continue to go well. My husband also believes that he is allergic to penicillin, but memory (his and his mom’s) isn’t always reliable so we think we have to be cautious but aren’t completely sure.
Very cute baby!! Monday, I have an hour infusion that is supposed to make me sick, purpose to make my bones stronger so I don’t break my hip, and then on Friday, I see a pain doctor who I hope that he can help get a neck brace and come up with ideas for my S.I joint pain.
Carol, I have a Zometa infusion every six months to strengthen my bones. Sometimes it makes my stomach a little queasy. Take some saltine crackers with you. They help me.
A very Happy Easter to and for you!
All great news!
What an adorable baby! Congratulations on the addition of Rylynn Grace to your family.
And I’m glad everything is going well with your healing. I’m sorry it is taking a long time.
Your new addition is perfect! And she is the exact weight and length my oldest daughter was at birth…30 years ago! Wild to look back at how little she was.
Healing is such a marathon. I hope you continue to rest and stay on the upward swing!
Have a great week ahead!
Congratulations on the arrival of Rylynn! Adorable.
Hope your healing continues going in the right direction!
Hope you have a great week.
