HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
It was a busy week here again last week.
Mr. Dollycas goes to Physical Therapy twice a week for his knee recovery. It has been going very well. On Wednesday, he finally had a surgery follow-up after being rescheduled twice. They removed the tape covering the incision and were very happy. His knee now matches my arm, LOL. He had been having a lot of ankle pain. They explained that it was due to how the ankle is strongly held down in surgery. They gave him a brace to protect when he puts weight on it. It is already feeling better.
I tagged along with him for some bloodwork for a virtual visit with my infectious disease doctor the next day. I was really nervous about it, but it was super easy. I signed in early to be sure I was in the right place, and the doctor popped right up. The whole thing took about 7 minutes. It was over before my scheduled appointment time and saved us about 3 hours of driving time. My incisions look great, and my numbers are good, so I am staying on the antibiotic. We will revisit again virtually in September to check my labs.
Daughter #1 and Daughter-in-Law #2 were busy helping Mr. Dollycas, but when Daughter #1’s vehicle started having major problems, stranding her at work one day, that became their focus. DIL #2 went to bring her home. The next day, Son #2 got involved, and they towed the car here. Seems a belt had shredded into what looked like spaghetti, and there was a battery issue and an oil leak. A friend fixed it well enough to get to the dealership where our favorite salesman works, and after a few hours, she was driving a beautiful new car.
After his appointment on Wednesday, Mr. Dollycas realized he forgot to ask about driving. He messaged the nurse, who replied that as long as he wasn’t taking his pain meds prior, and that he could tolerate the knee position while in the car, he could drive. So Thursday, he drove himself to physical therapy. He did take a pain pill when he got home, but was at his desk on time. Other than the time off for his doctor’s appointment, he worked his scheduled hours all week.
Not one to let grass grow under his feet, literally, he was back on his beloved lawnmower yesterday. I am amazed at how well he is doing. Thank you, everyone, for your good vibes and prayers. They are working for both of us.
His next project is getting his flowers and berries planted.

It’s amazing that he’s recovered so well to be able to back on his mower – I hope his recovery continues so well:). I love the look of A Botanists Guide to Rituals & Revenge – have a great week.
I’m shocked to see how quickly your husband has recovered from his surgery and is back doing the things he loves. I need to send your post to my daughter-in-law’s mother who needs knee surgery desperately and has been putting it off.
Have a great week, Lori!
All in all, an excellent week! (except for car payments 😉)
Here’s to the upcoming week being just as wonderful…
I’ve been dealing with a family member with transportation issues. I’m hoping a new-to-her car ends up being the solution.
Glad that Mr Dollycas is recovering well.
Have a great week!
