The Sunday Salon is a Facebook group that has become an
informal week-in-review gathering place for bloggers.
It is also a place to share our thoughts about things of a bookish nature.

~ It’s a chance to share news~
A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
For the first time since my unexpected hospital experience, I posted 4 reviews last week. All 4 were Perfect Escapes. I am hoping to stay on track, but again this week my eyes were slamming before I reached my goal number of pages. So this will continue to be a work in progress.
No sporting events for us this week. Between the heat and the rain, the games were postponed, or we stayed home where it was cool. This week is forecast to be even hotter, 92 degrees Saturday, as I type this, and rain Tuesday through next Monday. We are under a heat advisory through Monday evening.

I binged on the final episodes of Season 1 of The Pitt and can’t wait to see Season 2. This weekend, I am bingeing the rest of Ellsbeth Season 2. Of course, I will be reading too.
In other news, Rylnn is now 2 months old and the absolute cutest little girl. Not going to lie, I could stare at that little face all day long.
Again this week, masked ICE that could not be ICE for all we know because of their masks and the ability to purchase the same vests and gear online, people disappearing, people kidnapped, a Senator being tackled at a Homeland Security press conference, other leaders arrested while trying to do their jobs, the embarrassment of what happened at the G7, false claims of deals and treaties, being on the brink of another war, and so much more ties me up in knots and is taking a toll on me. Every day, sometimes several times a day, I get a notification on my phone of another travesty or cruelty. While it all makes me crazy, this week we received notice that the “Trump administration to shut down LGBTQ youth suicide hotline“. My son may not have been part of that community, but those mothers will feel the same excruciating pain I felt and still carry today when I learned my son had taken his own life. This is just one thing that shows what an evil man is doing to ruin our nation. The protests last week were wonderful. We saw even some Republicans think he has gone too far, and are speaking out and coming out to protest. The next one is set for July 4th. We must keep gathering, phoning, and emailing our representatives. We are only 5 months in, will we survive all they have in store for us?
Edited to add, THE US JUST BOMBED IRAN without Congressional approval!

I really like reading through a post that can make men and women think. Also, thank you for allowing me to comment!
…I don’t even know what to say anymore.
It would be something if he was the only leader of a major country who has the mental aptitude of a peach stone. Sadly there are others cluttering up parliaments who aren’t fit to be there… Let’s hope next week is a better one.
