HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
Last Sunday, our Kia had a major malfunction, but thankfully, our kids have wonderful friends, including one who is a great mechanic. He came over, diagnosed the problem, parts were ordered, and he came on Wednesday and worked tirelessly to get it fixed. It was hard work because some of the parts to be removed were rusted and put up quite a fight.
Tuesday was my birthday, and we had plans to visit a nearby bar we had recently been introduced to. You get a free burger of your choice on your birthday, and their burgers are amazing. But Mr Dollycas wasn’t feeling well.
On Wednesday, he decided he needed to go to urgent care. The kids didn’t want him to drive, and I was in total agreement, so our son-in-law came up to take him. It wasn’t long before I got the text message saying he had strep and an undetermined infection and that he was being admitted. I don’t know why he always has to keep up or top me with these medical things.
He was able to come home Friday morning. Daughter #1 was coming up to take me to our family 4th of July celebration, so she came up early, got him home and settled, and we left for the celebration. We arrived shortly before the parade started. It was a hot one, but fun was had by all. We even had some friends join us for the first time.
Remi was in the parade.
As was my fabulous nephew and his wife with their new puppy.
After the parade, we moved the celebration to my mother-in-law’s home, where we were joined by more family who had watched the parade in other places along the route.
And G.G. was able to hold both of her new great-granddaughters.
From there, we went to Daughter #1’s house to watch the fireworks.
Sadly, Son #2 had to work, and Daughter #2 was unable to attend. They were both missed.
I had checked in with Mr. Dollycas a couple of times. He tried to sleep most of the day and was asleep when I got home. He was still pretty wiped out yesterday. I am hoping today will be better.
