HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
On Tuesday, we traveled about 2 hours North to attend the Celebration of Life for Mr. Dollycas’s uncle. He had a full life of 94 years. He was such a kind and caring man, who greeted each day with a smile. He was an educator, principal, and superintendent. The elementary school in town is named for him. He was an active member of the community and his church. He rode his bike everywhere, several miles a day, until not long before his death. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. We are now at the age when we get together and realize how much we have grown apart. Close cousins growing up get busy with families of their own, and it’s events like this that bring everyone back together. It was a beautiful service with a little time to check in and catch up. We were blessed to have this man in our lives, and know he also touched the lives of so many more.
He was an avid photographer, too. This picture was the cover of the program.

He also left us these words.
Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.
Leave the rest to God.

Beautiful and meaningful words…we should all live like this…
It’s wonderful to hear that your husband’s uncle had a life well-lived. It is a reminder for all of us to try to be worthy people. Thank you for sharing a little about his life with us.
Glad that you were able to celebrate a life well lived by your husband’s uncle.
