The Sunday Salon is a Facebook group that has become an
informal week-in-review gathering place for bloggers.
It is also a place to share our thoughts about things of a bookish nature.

~ It’s a chance to share news~
A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
With our grandchildren in three different school districts, we have 3 very different start dates this year. Natalie is the first to return. She started her 8th-grade year last Thursday. Just a little comparison 4 k – 8th Grade.

It was a normal week around here. Sadly, the everyday political travesties have become too commonplace. My head seems ready to explode several times a day as I read about every delusional idea and executive order with no pushback from anyone. If there is pushback, it is ignored, and the agenda moves ahead. I was upset by too many things last week to list, but I did a few rants on Facebook. They didn’t make me feel any better, but I think it is important to share for people who are not as tuned in as I am. I am tempted to turn the news notifications off on my phone, but my need to know overrules my need to remain calm.

I added a book to my Best Reads List of 2025 last week. Just click the link to read my review. Mrs. Christie at the Mystery Guild Library (Mrs. Christie Series) by Amanda Chapman

I’ve tried several ways of consuming news in the last few months. I finally settled on visiting the NPR and AP websites once a day. Anything else was too disruptive.
I just sent a Friend request on Facebook so that I can cheer your rants.
I am stick to reading from the Atlantic and the NY Times and I try to limit what I take in. I try to limit my rants to my blog where I feel safe among my book friends.
I’m so glad you enjoyed Mrs. Christie at the Mystery Guild Library.
Hope you have a great week!
The news in the U.S. is continually depressing. I’ve had to check out a bit more lately to be present in my personal life and not angry all the time. That’s privilege, I know. Good luck to the kids on their new school years. Mine start tomorrow, and the Tuesday after Labor Day 🙂
I’m truly upset at how politics has become. It’s getting harder to deal with everything going on lately. I hope things get better soon.

To retain my sanity, I allow myself two intensive periods of study of the insanity taking place a day … then the alerts go off for the remainder of the day.
Stunning how fast the kids grow!
