HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!

Last Saturday evening, we attended Remi’s 1st football game of the season. He was selected to be one of the Captains for the game. Both teams were evenly matched. Our Cardinals came out on top, 16 – 8. Remi had some nice catches and hits.
On Sunday, we celebrated the upcoming birth of our 8th Grandchild with a baby shower for Daughter #2. I can’t believe he will be here in just a few weeks.

Two more grandchildren started school last week. Thomas in 3rd grade and Charlotte in 1st.

You may have noticed I haven’t been posting any football pictures of Kaden. He made the difficult decision not to play this year. It was hard for all of us because it is his senior year, and he has played since he was 5. He has his reasons, and we have to support him. He may not be in a uniform on the field, but he is still involved with the team. He has taken on the role of Tech Manager. He films the games for the players and coaches to review each week at practice. He is also part of the new Nest Student Broadcast Team. It is a voluntary student group that is learning how to produce content, including school announcements, PSAs, broadcasting games, and many other things. Their future plans include adding soccer, baseball, and softball to the live stream options. The plans also include adding additional equipment to do sideline interviews and produce off-site content.
In other news, I have found a new way to relax when politics is driving me crazy. On August 19, a white tiger at a sanctuary about 45 minutes away gave birth to 4 cubs. I just learned about the place last year, and because I am crazy for big cats, we have been trying to plan a family fun day there. I had added their Facebook page to my favorites, and a few months ago, they thought the tiger was pregnant. I started each morning on their site, watching for news about Ginger, the other tigers, and other animals too. It was a while before her condition was confirmed. Now they have arrived and are the cutest cubs, and Ginger has been such a good mother. They asked their followers to submit name ideas, and then we voted on them. I have learned a lot more about tigers and find all the videos they post to be calming. The one below gives information about the cubs and their names. One thought to be a girl turned out to be a boy, so that one had a little name adjustment. You can see all their videos here. I hope you enjoy. We hope to visit in person soon.

I was wondering about Kaden and football. My sons both chose to step away from sports in high school, and these were difficult decisions for them. I’m glad Kaden is finding ways to still enjoy sports but to do so in new ways.
First – Reading IS self care! Great pics of all the grands, and shout out to Kaden on their new path. My daughter did some sportsing stuff for her broadcasting class last year, and it was rough for sports she didn’t know about. A tech manager who already knows the game inside and out is a WIN!
Congrats again on the upcoming birth!
Sounds as if both of the elder grandsons are doing what they enjoy most…good for them!
What a clever way to get over doomscrolling!
Glad that Remi had a nice football game!
