~ It’s a chance to share news~
A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
It was a sad week for our country with a school shooting in Colorado, a man shot and killed by Ice Agents near Chicago, conservative political activist, Charlie Kirk killed by a sharp shooter, along with a Supreme Court ruling that ICE can detain people based on the ethnicity and the language they speak, the construction beginning on the new White House ballroom, and all the other craziness by this administration. I didn’t agree with anything in Charlie Kirk’s platform, but he didn’t deserve to be killed. Children need to be safe in schools. Latinos who are citizens or in the process of becoming citizens should not be afraid to leave their homes. The hate speech is coming from the top, and it needs to stop, but his plan is to continue to divide us, not unite us. We are better than this. America is better than this. We are all in this together and need to lift each other up, not drag each other down.
The grands had a busy week. In addition to school every day –

Thomas had soccer on Thursday night and football on Saturday morning.
Natalie had a volleyball match Tuesday night, followed by softball practice.

Remi played football yesterday with a big win.

It was a tough week.
I also got to use a child’s sports as a good distraction. My 7yo great-niece is playing soccer. We went to a game yesterday and will go to another one today.
Thank you, Lori, for saying so well what many of us are thinking. I’m trying hard to speak up about the things that are important to me and are important to our world.
I’m glad that you got to enjoy seeing a lot of sports activities this week!
Hope you have a great week!
You are correct in all your assertions…the problem is how to get like minded individuals en mass to coalesce to rebut all this hatred
