~ It’s a chance to share news~
A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
It was a slow week around here. Rain caused the cancellation of all the sporting events.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Mental Health Awareness Month is observed every May to promote mental wellness, reduce stigma, and connect people with resources for mental health support.
Ways to Participate
Individuals and communities can engage in Mental Health Awareness Month through a variety of actions:
Personal Reflection and Self-Care: Check in with your own mental health, practice mindfulness, journaling, meditation, or physical activity, and create self-care routines.
Education and Advocacy: Learn about mental health conditions, share resources, participate in workshops, or advocate for policy changes and funding for mental health services.
Community Engagement: Attend local or virtual events, volunteer with mental health organizations, or participate in campaigns like “Be Seen in Green” by wearing green ribbons or clothing to show solidarity.
Sharing Stories: Sharing personal experiences can reduce stigma and foster connection, helping others feel less isolated.
Support Services: Utilize free mental health screenings, hotlines like 988, and online resources to access support for yourself or others.
I don’t know about you, but all the things going on in the world these days, the wars, the higher prices, the lawlessness, and more are adding stress to my life that I really don’t need. Like most bookworms, I escape into a book when I can to relax, or playing/seeing my grandchildren always pushes away the negative energy. My worry is the life we are leaving them, and each day brings more chaos. We all want their lives to be better than ours and filled with opportunities. I hope and pray we can still get there.

Thank you for sharing information about Mental Health Month. This has been a rough dozen or so years for all of us here in America. It’s honestly as if we are at war with ourselves, and the results have been that many of us are suffering mentally if not physically.
Great post! It really has been a difficult time for all of us. You’re right that books are the perfect escape for some of us.
Thank you for the information about Mental Health month. I agree that children are living in a very perilous atmosphere these days.
