A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
I am officially old. I had my first podiatrist appointment last week. With my paralysis, I have always had neuropathy and less feeling on the right side; the left side passed with flying colors. With diabetes, my calendar now includes a yearly podiatry appointment.

Thursday night, we went to Natalie’s last home volleyball game. The girls played hard but lost all 3 matches. Natalie had great blocks and sets. They still have several away games. I hope we can make it to some.
For weeks, I have been upset about what is happening in Washington, D.C., specifically the national landmarks and the sale of public lands across the country. All the vanity projects, from the Kennedy Center to the new arch, and the chopping down of trees to enlarge a golf course, and more. Add to that the daily chaos with the press, and the state dinner for the Chinese dictator, it is just too much.

It has been many years since we took our children to Washington to see the sights. They were too small to understand the meaning of it all, but my husband and I weren’t. Memorials that we thought would always be there. The history of our country represented in grand ways. The statues, the monuments, the museums; everything is at risk. His staff really pitched putting his name on the Ford Theatre. No regard for history, no regard for those who gave all to serve and protect, no regard for a President who was assassinated, no regard for gifts from foreign nations, no regard for the People’s House. If he can slap his name, picture, or gold to it, he will, and every day it is something new. Lawsuits and rulings be damned.
We also have the illegal war, prices of everything soaring, and monies appropriated by Congress being pulled back. Yesterday I read that the FCC wants to remove internet access to schools and libraries! The only way to get control of this is for WE THE PEOPLE to vote. Our votes matter now more than ever. Imagine two more years of this. My absentee ballot arrived this week, and we will be hand-delivering it to our city hall. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? Early voting starts now in many states. Do your research. Make sure you are registered. Confirm your polling place. Then VOTE! Take a friend or family member to the polls with you. If you are able, volunteer in your community. We are all in this together!

Conservative Waco, Texas delighted me with Talarico signs everywhere. I do hope that bodes well for the election here, but I dare not hope. I don’t know what is wrong with people—if we are going to reclaim our country, we better act quickly.
I’m really hoping there are more like you willing to speak up this election.
Thanks for sharing your week, happy reading.
