Have you ever gotten your blog set up just perfectly and then something stops working?

That happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I found out my wonderful Beach Holiday theme was no longer covered by technical support from the creator and the last few times WordPress updated things with my theme stopped working.

This week with a lot of help from a very patient wonderful person I upgraded my theme. I tried to keep basically the same background and relaxing feel. All the features are working and while I still have much to learn.

It just means we have to keep learning new things everyday.  For me than means learning more of the technical working of blogs and reading wonderful books every day. I hope you will leave a comment and let me know what you think of my new theme. Any tips or hints are always welcome too!

Besides working on the technical stuff I had a good content week as well.

Monday meant my normal memes. It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? and Mondays Music Moves Me!

Tuesday I reviewed Ocean Beach by Wendy Wax. It comes out this Tuesday and is a perfect escape beach read!

Cozy Wednesday brought one of my favorite cozy authors Julie Hyzy by for a visit. She talks about her love affair with Marshall Fields.

Thursday I hosted the Virtual Blog Stop for All He Saw Was The Girl by Peter Leonard. I do enjoy this author’s writing style.

Friday I reviewed Nose for Trouble by Doranna Durgin. This was a fantastic cozy. It was originally released in 2005 and it has been updated and was re-released this past April.

Saturday I reviewed Quilt or Innocence by Elizabeth Craig. I will admit I didn’t like some of these characters at first but the story pulled me through and I can’t wait to read the next installment.

This was also a big week for special events. I am taking part in the Wicked Wildfire Read-a-Thon. I am not doing as well as I had hoped as my time keeps being diverted away from reading, but I hope to finish strong today.

I am also involved in two Giveaway Hops. The Midsummer’s Eve Giveaway Hop runs through Tuesday and The Literary Blog Hop goes through Wednesday.

These are both for review later this summer.

My dad passed away back in June 1988 just two weeks after being diagnosed with cancer. I will enjoy my memories today. It will be a relaxing day with the kids making their father’s day special!! I will be reading and watching the NASCAR race.

Another busy week!

On Monday I returned to a meme that I had taken a short break from. Monday always start out better with a little music and Xmas Dolly hosts Monday’s Music Moves Me. With her co-conductors they orchestrate a virtual dance party every Monday. She is planning a big celebration to celebrate the 100th week just one week from tomorrow.

I also start off each week with Sheila at Book Journey with It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? Sheila celebrated her three year blogoversary last week! Congrats Sheila!!

Tuesday I welcomed Tara McTiernan, author of Barefoot Girls. They is still time to enter to win a copy of her book.

Cozy Wednesday brought Alyse Carlson by to tell us about her new Garden Society Mystery series and the first book The Azalea Assault. A wonderful debut! There is a giveaway for this one too!

Thursday was the start of the Clean Your Shelf Giveaway Hop. Lots of great giveaways happening.

I also reviewed Summer Breeze by Nancy Thayer on Thursday. I was a little disappointed in this one.

Friday I reviewed The Devil’s Highway by R. Scott Douglas. Another author to watch.

I didn’t get as much reading done for this week as I had hoped for so Saturday left me without a book to review. I have been slowly moving posts from my old blog Dollycas’s Thoughts to this new blog. I came across an article I wrote back in 2010 about Who Made You The Reader You Are Today? It was one of my favorite posts so I reposted it here yesterday. I hope you will tell me about Who Made You The Reader You Are Today!

I also had an excellent reading week that I will tell you all about tomorrow!!

It has been a real busy week. In addition to my normal posts I participated in the Armchair Book Expo America. I hope someday to be able to attend the Live Book Expo America but virtually meeting some new bloggers this past week was a lot of fun. You can read all of my Armchair BEA posts here and you can still enter the giveaway. My giveaway is open to everyone whether you were a part the BEA crowd or not so I hope you will check it out.

Tuesday was New Release Tuesday and so many fantastic books hit the shelves.

Wednesday brought author Laura Bradford to visit for Cozy Wednesday. Her new Amish Mystery Series is off to a wonderful start. A second printing of Hearse and Buggy has already been ordered!

Thursday I reviewed an awesome story. Following Atticus: Forty-Eight High Peaks, One Little Dog, and an Extraordinary Friendship is so inspiring. A must-read!!

Friday was a review of another great piece of fiction. Firefly Beach by Meira Pentermann is magical. You can read my full review here and enter to win a copy of the book.

Yesterday I posted my review of The Diva Digs Up the Dirt (A Domestic Diva Mystery) by Krista Davis. It is the 6th book in the series and terrific.

It  was an excellent blogging week!

This is my favorite week every month. The UPS driver brings me packages almost every day! It is hard to believe that he’s the same driver that delivered to Rhodes Bake-n-Serv when I was the office manager there over 11 years ago. He tries to sneak up the drive so my dogs don’t go crazy barking but it never works and we end up having a good laugh. Well here is what he brought me this week:
