Another week and another month has flown by way too fast. It is just crazy how fast time is flying. My grandson started first grade this past week so I want to share with you his favorite picture from our recent family picture day. The photographer was fantastic with the kids.

I told you about going to my mother-in-laws to have family pictures taken. The photographer has been giving us sneak peeks this week on Facebook. All I know is that I am going to need more frames!!! Huge thank you to Samara Mae Photographics!!!

We had a huge group of 36 people and all the pictures turned out fantastic and were very reasonably priced. She not only did the huge group shot but did mini-sessions with most of the families like the pictures of my kids below. 3 of the children were under the age of two, the rest  of the kids ranged from 2 -6. It is hard to get everyone looking at the camera and smiling all at the same time. She was so patient and never frazzled. Samara went above and beyond my expectations.

She photographs everything – newborns, families, senior portraits, weddings and more. She lives in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Check out her Webpage here. I have referral cards if you are interested. I will be sharing a very special picture she made for Kaden hopefully next week!! I will also be adding new family pictures to my About Me page soon.

I had a fantastic week!! I was completely unplugged on Wednesday for our Family Fun Day! We had so much FUN!! Even with sunblock we all have sunburns that are turning into nice tans. Except for grandson Kaden who only came out of the lake long enough to eat a fast lunch. The big kids hiked trails, climbed rocks and took Natalie and Kaden out in a canoe. I took along a book to read thinking I would just sit in the sun and read, I only read 2 chapters, the rest of the time was spent enjoying my family’s antics. We are already planning a return trip next year.
IMG_2127We also spent last Sunday with the whole Caswell Clan getting family pictures taken. I can wait to see how they all turned out.

I was able to do a bit of reading too and it was a full week on the blog too!!

great escape button tour host button
This week I have a special request!

I am booking two Great Escapes tours that are not Cozy Mysteries so I am looking for bloggers who would like to review a “screwball” mystery or a Historical Fiction with paranormal element/Sea Adventure. I have read the first 2 books in the screwball mystery series and enjoyed them immensely. I have read the historical fiction story and was able to completely “escape” in the story. If you would like more info about either tour please leave a comment with your email and I will send you more information.

This afternoon we are headed to my mother-in-laws for a family picture. The last time we had one taken was in 2003. My father-in-law has passed away but we have grown from a group 21 to 36 with 2 more babies on the way. I am excited because we have quite the photo shoot planned. I hope to share some new pictures in the coming weeks.

It has been an another busy week . Ellery Adams Month started on my blog! 3 Great Escapes Book Tours are running with more starting soon and my inbox is filling with more to set up. Plus I read 3 fantastic books!

Friday night Mr.Dollycas, Daughter #2, and I had dinner with our very best friends. They are moving to Kentucky next week and we are going to miss them terribly. We tied up a table at Applebees for over 3 hours and we were all in tears as we said good-bye with promises to visit going both ways. Kicking myself because we didn’t take a picture.

I am writing this Saturday morning in great anticipation of what tonight will bring. Tonight is my 35th Class Reunion. Yes, I graduated in 1979, it really doesn’t seem that long ago. We had a get together a couple of years ago at a local bar and had so much fun. This one is a little more planned and hoping more people will be able to attend. I am probably sleeping in this morning due to the late night last night. I will tell you all about it next week!

julyBooks Read in July

I also had the privilege to read an early copy of
Captain Shelby by Jesse Giles Christiansen.

July Totals – 17 Books – 5010 Pages – 4842 KB

Year-To-Date Totals – 121 Books – 36766 Pages – 31051 KB

I didn’t complete any Challenges this month 🙁 but am getting close on a few.

My big adventure this week was a trip to the DMV. I needed to get an ID with my new address on it so I can register to vote. Plus the picture on my old ID was way before my accident. I had to replace my ID back then but because I was in a body brace they were nice enough to use the picture from my old driver’s license and it didn’t look anything like this old lady does today. I have to wait to receive the actual ID in the mail but it looks closer to this …

Another busy week. I spent a couple of hours researching the Subscribe 2 Plug In I use and trying to remove the new pop-up screen that appeared every time anyone visited my blog. It drove me crazy and that was the last thing I wanted for my readers. I knew the blog was loading slower but I was totally surprised when the company the hosts my blog, Tiger Technologies, emailed me saying that they had found a bug in the plug in program and fixed it. They noticed the problem because I was using large amounts of their server resources. They also notified the author of the plugin so that they could fix the problem for everyone else.

Tiger Technologies has gone above and beyond my expectations since I signed up to have my blog hosted by them. Customer Service is super fast and they catch problems like the one above before you even know about them. For just $8.95 a month I know my blog is safe and sound and there is always someone there to help if I have any questions. It is money well spent, especially after the fiasco I went through with Blogger/Google a few years ago where Customer Service did not exist.

The good news is the pop-up is gone. You can subscribe to my blog with the links in the sidebar as always 🙂

We are saw an excellent production of Driving Miss Daisy. It was done in the round and we were in the second row. I absolutely loved it. The meal was fantastic too.

I always get excited when the new books arrive for the following month but this month it was extra exciting. You see this was one of the books to arrive:

pool timeOur grandsons spent a couple of days with us last week while their mom attended Country USA a few miles from here. I hope to attend one of these years. This year we have had so much rain you definitely need to wear rain boots. There was so  much mud even some of the country stars tour buses had to be pulled out my tow trucks the first night. My daughter and her friends had a blast. Summerfest – The World’s Largest Music Festival is also happening now. Sadly we are not attending this year. I would have loved to see Luke Bryan and Danielle Bradbery last night.  Oh to be young again 😛 If you live near Milwaukee or can get there, tickets are still available for a lot of the headliners and the park is full of free music all all kinds on several stages.
