by Meg Macy
…one of the best First in a New Series I have been privileged to review…Trust me you will curl up and cuddle this mystery like it was your teddy bear.
A clever who-done-it, Bearly Departed kept me entertained and engaged in the story.
~Sapphyria’s Book Reviews
I enjoy that the murder and plot surrounding it are thought out, organized, and leave several viable suspects that keep you guessing until the very end. I appreciate the way Meg Macy laid the story out where I could try my hand at solving the crime right along with Sasha.
~A Cozy Experience
The mystery kept me interested. I was completely stumped on the killer and was surprised when it was revealed.
Since I live in SE Michigan, I’m very familiar with the area that Ms. Macy used in the book…It was kind of neat to see the things that she included and what she mixed around for originality, that kind of thing. ?
With themes of family and tradition as well as progress and letting go BEARLY DEPARTED is an enjoyable start to a new series.
~Cozy Up With Kathy
Sasha is just amazing. She’s like a Jeanne d’Arc of small towns and teddy bears – loyal and willing to go to bat for those (and for what) she believes in.
There’s plenty of characters, family dynamics, and red herrings to hold interest.
~The Power of Words
I loved the town she described with so many cute little themed shops. It is a tourist’s dream to visit a town like this. From the beginning I was enthralled with the story of a bear shop with the bear factory behind it.
Bearly Departed is the first book in the Teddy Bear Mystery series and it is a really cute one. The setting is different from the usual restaurant or pet related places that you usually see and that makes this different from the start.
~A Chick Who Reads
The murder mystery is very well developed and keeps readers guessing all the way through.
This was a terrific first installment of a new series…It is quite an enjoyable read with lots of false trails and red herrings to keep the readers fully engaged.
~I Read What You Write
The family business started by Sasha and Maddie’s father, and all the employees, are threatened by the actions of one person – and then he’s dead and they’re all suspects…
~Christa Reads and Writes
I enjoyed visiting Silver Hollow and the Silver Bear Shop and Factory. The story was well thought out and developed and the characters were all believable.
~Melina’s Book Blog
This is quite an entangled mystery, because there’s not just a human’s body, there’s a killer of teddy bears too! If you are searching for an original read, this is your book!
I thoroughly enjoyed this cute and fun cozy mystery. Sasha is a smart sleuth and I liked following her through this mystery.
It’s an interesting premise with interesting characters. I found the storyline to be intriguing and captivating.

Talk about cozy! How cozier can a mystery get than one set in a teddy bear factory, and stuffed with furry goodness?

Definitely a fabulous new book series that pulls you in and won’t let go until the last page is turned.

The Silver Bear Shop and Factory might be the cutest place around, but there’s nothing warm and fuzzy about murder . . .
As manager of the family teddy bear shop and factory, thirty-one-year-old Sasha Silverman leads a charmed life. Well, except for the part about being a single divorcée with a ticking biological clock in small-town Silver Hollow. And that’s just kid’s stuff compared to Will Taylor, the sales rep who’s set on making drastic changes to the business her parents built from scratch—with or without Sasha’s approval . . .
But before Will digs his claws in, someone pulls the stuffing out of his plan . . . and leaves his dead body inside the factory. Reeling from shock, Sasha’s hit with more bad news—police suspect her hot-tempered Uncle Ross may have murdered him. Sasha knows her uncle would never do such a thing, and she’s launching her own little investigation to expose the truth. As she tracks Will’s biggest rivals and enemies for clues, Sasha can’t get too comfy—or she’ll become the next plaything for a killer . . .
