Belinda Blake and the Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing (An Exotic Pet-Sitter Mystery) by Heather Day Gilbert

Belinda Blake and the Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing
(An Exotic Pet-Sitter Mystery)
by Heather Day Gilbert

This is a great cozy mystery series, totally different from other books in the genre. Characters are colorful and well-drawn, prose and dialogue flow steadily, and the mystery itself has an emotional, almost haunting, appeal.
~The Power of Words

The story is well-written with wit and heart, as well as more layers and depth than we usually see in cozies. Add in a wealth of potential suspects & some surprising twists and reveals … and a simmering romance with a swoony fella … and you’ve got another must-read from this author.
~Reading Is My SuperPower

Once again Belinda Blake has bitten off more than she can chew as an exotic pet sitter . . . With her sister going a little stir-crazy on maternity bed-rest and a book club friend giving off mixed messages, and mother issues happening for several characters, this was a five star read.
~Laura’s Interests

I was quickly immersed in this read, and it held me to the end, but was left with questions as to who will win Belinda’s heart!
~Maureen’s Musings

The mystery is well-plotted and carried on well throughout the book. There were plenty of clues to sift through and suspects to consider, and although the culprit was one of the suspects I contemplated, I was not completely sure until the reveal.
~MJB Reviewers

A super fast good read . . . The story/plot kept me interested to the end. I was anxious to find out who was setting up the wolves to take the fall.
~My Reading Journeys

Belinda Blake and the Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing by Heather Day Gilbert is a fantastic mystery with an excellent cast of characters.
~Baroness’ Book Trove

This is a fun, delightful read . . . Belinda Blake and the Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing is a well-written, adorable cozy-mystery and I reckon this will be a great addition to your cozy-mystery TBR.
~Diary of a Book Fiend

I enjoyed this mystery, it had a unique setting in a Wolf Preserve, the author has obviously researched wolf packs and wolf behaviour and has skilfully managed to make them feel real and endearing.

There is an amazing cast of employees at this preserve, well-developed enough you get the picture. Belinda herself seems to be independent and unusually spirited (obviously sufficient to tackle exotic pets).
~Rosepoint Publishing

What a wonderful followup book in this series. I’ve really grown to like Belinda and her investigative skills, even if she ends up in the hot seat more than she expected.

Exotic pet-sitter Belinda Blake is nervous about her new job at the White Pine Wolf Preserve, but it turns out that the care and feeding of wild carnivores may be the least dangerous part of the gig . . .

Pet-sitter Belinda Blake is no stranger to dealing with wild animals, but she’s wary when the owner of the Greenwich, Connecticut, preserve asks her to help out with her “fluffy darlings.” Her caution seems justified on her very first day, when she discovers a tour guide—dead, bloodied, and surrounded by wolves in the enclosure.

Was it death by predator or something more sinister? The body count rises, but something’s not adding up. As she gets to know the rescued wolves and wolf-dog hybrids better, Belinda realizes that her human colleagues are not above suspicion. With help from her own “pack”—her pregnant sister, Red the chauffeur/bodyguard, and hunky farmer Jonas—Belinda is hot on the killer’s tail, but if she doesn’t find him soon, he’ll do more than muzzle her to keep the truth from escaping.
