Here Comes the Body (A Catering Hall Mystery)
by Maria DiRico
Here Comes the Body is a humorous & intriguing cozy mystery with a murdered moll, a vanished feathered friend, transportation troubles, frightful free furniture, a relentless reporter, and a matchmaking mobster.
~The Avid Reader
. . . like the charm of Byron’s Cajun / Bayou series, this one will immediately make you feel like you’re in an authentic place . . . I recommend it to all cozy lovers and those who want to see a piece of NYC (whether it’s Queens or Manhattan because as the book confirms, BOTH are part of ‘the city.’ 4.5 stars… can’t wait for more.
~This Is My Truth Now
This story is off to a rousing start. There’s action, humor, mystery and a huge cast of quirky characters.
~Socrates’ Book Reviews…
Holy macanoli a cozy mystery with MOB connections. It was awesome!
~Gimme The Scoop Reviews
Here Comes the Body has this series off to a fine start. The characters are memorable and feel very true to life. The mystery was well-plotted and interesting with a large dose of humor.
~Escape With Dollycas Into A Good Book
Colorful and quirky characters give this book its heart, and I’m looking forward to keeping up with this motley crew as the series continues.
~Reading Is My SuperPower
The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and those descriptions pulled me into the story from the very beginning. I thought the mystery was well plotted and not easily solved.
Mystery, humor, character depth, and vivid setting are all woven together in this story which flows evenly across the page . . . I was caught up from the first page and, although eager to see how things resolved, enjoyed the characters so much that I hated to reach the conclusion.
The Power of Words
I enjoyed this book and think this is going to be a good series. One of my favorite things is the mafia/mob connection as I love reading and watching things about connected families.
~A. Holland Reads
This series is going to be a lot of fun and I already like Mia’s brother Posi who is trying to go viral as a sexy convict . . . Mia’s grandmother and the “army” are a hoot . . . We give this book 5 paws up and look forward to the next book.
From wacky characters with heart, villains you love to hate, and comedic touches to keep you laughing HERE COMES THE BODY is the crème de la crème of cozy mysteries.
~Cozy Up With Kathy
I think that Ms. DiRico has an excellent new series on her hands with this book. I loved reading it a lot. The whole mob connection had me laughing.
~Baroness’ Book Trove
This was a great start to a new series . . . This story was so well written and I really enjoyed the setting and the plot. It was well thought out and the characters were really believable.
