A Tourist’s Guide to Murder (Mystery Bookshop)
by V.M. Burns
A Tourist’s Guide to Murder was just that. I escaped right into this book and was captivated from beginning to end.
~Escape With Dollycas Into A Good Book
. . . this was a fun and interesting cozy mystery. One I read straight through when I sat down with this book. I recommend this one to those who enjoy a fun cozy mystery.
~Carla Loves To Read
I really enjoy this Mystery Bookshop series by V. M. Burns, and A Tourist’s Guide To Murder is my favorite installment so far!
~Reading Is My SuperPower
Some readers collect book boyfriends as they read along, I adopt grandparents of all stripes. I adore the whole bunch of these gals. This is a series more than worth the time it takes to read it.
~I Read What You Write!
I adore the characters in this series. They are so much fun, and they’re definitely my dream tour companions.
~Christy’s Cozy Corners
The twists and turns will keep you turning the pages.
And you’ll be giggling along the way.
~My Reading Journeys
Sam, Nana Jo and her three resourceful retirees are the heart of this cozy mystery. All are both realistic and funny, which is a hard balance to maintain. I also loved the ingenious surprises in both mysteries within the book.
~DIANE REVIEWS BOOKS
What a fun read this was! . . . an enjoyable read . . . which is described beautifully making you feel like you are there . . . Add in the bonus reading of Sam’s historical British cozy and we get two books in one. This all combines into a cozy you won’t be able to put down as it all plays out.
~Books a Plenty Book Reviews
I was hooked. And then…and then… I discovered her protagonist was also a mystery writer. And this was the best surprise I had, for half, well, a third at least, of the book has not one but TWO mysteries going – one with Sam and all traveling to England, and the other in the 1930s in an upstairs/downstairs manor house with Lords and Ladies. So fun!
~Here’s How It Happened
A Tourist’s Guide to Murder is V.M. Burns’s most entertaining installment to date in the fantastic Mystery Bookshop mystery series. In addition to the series’ lovable characters and their laugh-out-loud antics, readers of this latest cozy are treated to amusing, dramatic murder suspects and enjoyable armchair travel.

While visiting the land of Miss Marple and Sherlock Holmes, bookstore owner and amateur sleuth Samantha Washington finds herself on a tragical mystery tour . . .
Sam joins Nana Jo and her Shady Acres Retirement Village friends Irma, Dorothy, and Ruby Mae on a weeklong trip to London, England, to experience the Peabody Mystery Lovers Tour. The chance to see the sights and walk the streets that inspired Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle is a dream come true for Sam—and a perfect way to celebrate her new publishing contract as a mystery author.
But between visits to Jack the Ripper’s Whitechapel district and 221B Baker Street, Major Horace Peabody is found dead, supposedly of natural causes. Despite his employer’s unfortunate demise, the tour guide insists on keeping calm and carrying on—until another tourist on their trip also dies under mysterious circumstances. Now it’s up to Sam and the Shady Acres ladies to mix and mingle among their fellow mystery lovers, find a motive, and turn up a murderer . . .
