Frosted Yuletide Murder (Cupcake Catering Mystery Series)
by Kim Davis
Kim Davis has definitely drawn me in with this second book of hers that I’ve read… and I’ve already gotten copies of the first few in this series. I’m plotting out when to read them throughout the next three months so that I’m fully caught up when her 2022 release is published.
~This Is My Truth Now
The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these descriptions pulled me into the story from the beginning. The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. The mystery was well plotted and there were enough suspects to consider and clues to sift through. The mystery was not easily solved and that is just how I like my mysteries.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well-crafted cozy mystery. I have enjoyed all of the books by this author and you will too.
~MJBReviewers
I thought I had set my reading agenda for the rest of the year months ago, but some books kept creeping onto my to-be-read list. One of those was Frosted Yuletide Murder, the fourth Cupcake Catering Mystery from Kim Davis. Considering the Christmas theme, I just had to make room for it. And I’m glad I did. Before we go any further, I am going to issue a very strong spoiler warning. No, I won’t be spoiling this book, but this book spoils some events from previous books in the series. Don’t pick it up if you haven’t read the earlier books and have any desire to do so.
~Carstairs Considers
Author Kim Davis expertly describes the scenes making you feel like you are a part of what is going on. With Emory and Carrie meeting their sister I was literally wondering if she’ll be dragging Emory into sleuthing! I always enjoy the covers and the recipes!
This is fun series that is sure to please with each book written as a stand-alone. If you are new to the series you might enjoy the series best by reading in order and meeting each of the characters and their relationships with each other as the series develops.
~My Reading Journeys
Makes for a fabulously fun cozy read that is sure to be enjoyable to fans of the genre. A must-read for me. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
~Books a Plenty Book Reviews
This series is so much fun especially when it comes to the recipes. All of the cupcakes, cookies, and other desserts always sound so delicious, and if I didn’t think I would gain 10 lbs by making them I certainly would. Maybe for an event where I can share the goodies. Basically, I can relate to Emory who tends to sample a little more than she should. Nothing wrong with making sure it all comes out tasty! We give this book 5 paws up and look forward to the next book in this series.
~Storybook Reviews
Ms. Davis is such an outstanding storyteller. Everyone has known or dealt with a bully in our lives so it is so easy to identify with Carrie and Emory and what they felt dealing with Blair, so that draws you into the story right away. After that, the author pulls you in even tighter with the murder and then you find you just can’t put this book down.

Set against the holiday cheer of twinkling lights, costumed carolers, and a festive line of extravagantly decorated boats participating in the annual Christmas boat parade in Newport Beach, California, cupcake caterer Emory Martinez finds that the grinch has crashed the party. Together with her sister Carrie, Emory is catering a delectable feast of holiday cupcakes and cookies aboard a luxury yacht for the new Mrs. Blair Villman and her guests.
Sparks fly when Carrie comes face-to-face with the hostess, who just happens to be Carrie’s high school frenemy, and old grievances are dredged up. Adding fuel to the fire, Blair’s stepson brings his mother, the former Mrs. Villman, to the party. Instead of celebrating holiday cheer, someone seems intent on channeling the Burgermeister Meisterburger and shutting down Blair’s party permanently. When Emory finds a body aboard the yacht, she needs to discover who iced the victim before the Scrooge ruins not only her livelihood but her freedom as well.
Includes delicious holiday recipes.
