Not Cricket After All, I got hooked on Dotty and her friends with the first Cotswold mystery, “Auction of Secrets’ and I can’t wait to find the time to binge-read the original “Dotty Sayers” series.

I highly recommend A Wicket of Lies by Victoria Tait! I loved the unique setting of the cricket match. The characters are well-written and ones I love. The mystery is well-plotted with just enough clues to lead you to the culprit! 5 stars!

While A Wicket of Lies focused more on cricket at first, which worked well for me, the mystery that materializes and Dotty’s awakening set this story apart. It warmed my heart and broke my heart. Ms. Tait’s characters strongly pull readers into their stories. You will be rooting for some and worried about others. Some characters will have you doing both.

As always with Victoria Tait books, they are so well-paced and interesting. I loved the cozy British village setting of this book. The author does a wonderful job of describing the setting to the extent that I always feel immersed in these books.
