I get really giddy whenever I spy a new Baker Street Mystery release from Valerie Burns. First, because those covers are – no pun intended – to die for! But the other reason my bookish heart always skips a beat when I see Baby and Maddy pop up on another novel is this: the characters are so. much. FUN!

Valerie Burns has crafted a delicious novel that seamlessly blends marriage and mystery. One of the charms of the Baker Street Mystery series is the large cast of characters. The best character of all is the dog. He may be named Baby, but he is anything but small. The 250 lb mastiff is a lovable, crazy mutt. In true cozy mystery style, this murder mystery has enough well-placed clues to keep a mystery lover reading.

Icing on the Murder is an excellent addition to this fun series. I truthfully cannot get enough of these characters.
