Miss Mona is broke. It’s during the Depression, and National Geographic has just turned down her application to join an expedition to the Amazon.

What’s she to do? Perhaps get a job as a department store salesgirl. Anything to tide her over until the next assignment.

There’s a knock on the door. Who could this be in the middle of the night? Holding a revolver, Mona reluctantly opens her door to a man wearing a Homburg hat and holding a briefcase.

“I bring glad tidings. Your Uncle Manfred Moon has died and left you as his heir to the Moon fortune. You are now one of the richest women in the country!” he says.

Mona’s response is to point her revolver in his face. If the stranger is telling the truth, she will apologize. If he is a fraud, she will shoot him.

That’s how Mona does things in 1933.

Editorial Reviews

FIVE STARS! – READERS’ FAVORITE
“Murder Under A Blue Moon: 1930s Mona Moon Mysteries Book 1 by Abigail Keam is a most delightful novel. Author Abigail Keam shows off her gift for fantastic descriptions and vivid characterization with the classic setting that revolves around the Moon mansion. Mona is the epitome of strong female characterization as she balances her free-thinking, trouser-wearing independence with the softer side of an alluring woman of fashion and wealth. Readers of this mystery will love this book and eagerly await the next installation of the Mona Moon Mystery series.”

About the Book

Worker Bee Press (July 24, 2018)
Paperback: 228 pages

Josiah joins an amateur thespian group that puts on plays in quirky places like public parks and crumbling antebellum mansions. It is a way to socialize, and Josiah feels lonely when her friend Hunter stops calling. Since the new play is being staged at Hunter’s ancestral home Wickliffe Manor, Josiah sees this as a win-win situation. She gets to have fun and remind Hunter that she is still alive and kicking. Hint. Hint.

What could go wrong? Everything!

Hunter ignores the acting group including Josiah, and it doesn’t help when the leading lady, Madison Smythe, drops dead on Hunter’s antique Persian rug. To make matters worse, Franklin, Hunter’s brother, is arrested for her murder!

Josiah does the only thing she can. She sends an S.O.S. to her daughter Asa to investigate the murder. Asa must also discover why a love note from Hunter was found in the dead woman’s coat pocket. Josiah is ready for romance, but she doesn’t want to fall in love with a cheater . . . and possibly a murderer!

Praise for Death By Drama: A Josiah Reynolds Mystery
by Abigail Keam

Finances and romance and other dark secrets all play a role and must come to light before the truth plays out.
~Laura’s Interests

The characters are well developed and well rounded. Josiah is quite a character, she is quirky, bossy (in a good way) and she knows her mind, and does not like taking no for an answer.
