Lost puppies, endangered birds…
The sisters are birddogs on a murder most fowl. The sisters are thriving like mountain sage in an Arizona autumn. Nicole’s yoga business is gaining a foothold in Wyatt. Emma’s first mystery novel is scheduled for release. But a proposed, expansive building project in the pristine area of the bird sanctuary has the community in an uproar. It’s Environmentalists versus Big Business, and the sisters are caught in the cross-fire.
When one of Nic’s yoga students is found dead near the planned resort, the amateur sleuths are back on the trail of a killer. Who has the most to gain from her death—the morally challenged developer, the money-grubbing boyfriend, her jealous brother, a nasty neighbor, or a co-worker with dark secrets? And where has Skittles, the dog, gone?
While the Chocolate Martini Sisters sort through the litany of villains, they’re leaving no mystery unsolved. The stakes are escalating, throwing the sisters on divergent paths that all come together at a dangerous intersection. As they unsnarl the tangled mysteries, will they expose the murderer before the killer finds a way to silence them?

I am delighted to welcome Nicole Earp from the Chocolate Martini Sisters Mysteries to Escape With Dollycas today!
Hi, Nicole. Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
First, let me thank you for having me as a guest today. I admire your blog. My name is Nicole Earp, but I’m better known as Nic. I’ll be forty-seven in a couple of weeks. I’m 5’3” with blonde/silver streaked, shoulder-length hair. I have a light scar above my right temple as the result of falling out of tree as a kid. When I’m nervous, or have a “feeling” about a situation, it tingles. Really! You’ll rarely see me without a hat. I have a great collection. I favor long skirts but have some favorite jeans and secondhand store pants too. I’m cheerful, chatty, and snoopy. I’m a bit haphazard and probably too trusting. My attitude about life could be called free-wheeling.
What makes you laugh?
I get a kick out of old black and white comedies. My second ex-husband, Rodney Earp, can always make me laugh.
Do you have a special talent or gift?
I don’t know how special my talents are, but I dabble in candle making. With the opening of my yoga studio this year, my fondness for making essential oils is more prolific. I sell them at the studio. I’ll soon have a line of oils for dogs too. That’s kind of special. My main income is from writing travel articles which I’ve won a couple of minor awards for. But most special of all is solving murders. When my sleuthing style is combined with my sister Em’s style…well, let’s just say the case is solved.
Tell us about your family.
I’m currently single. I have one daughter from my first marriage. I named her after my favorite perfume at that time, Chloe. She’s an accountant. She and her husband recently moved to Wyatt, and I’m ecstatic to have her closer. She’s cautious and far more conservative than I am, so she worries about my sleuthing escapades. My sister Em is my only sibling. We’re tight. Although our personalities and lifestyles are miles apart, our love and fun together sync perfectly.
Who is the most important person in your life?
My daughter Chloe is my number one person. My sister Em is a close second.
I enjoy yoga, am an avid mystery reader, and hanging with my sister Em is always a great time.
If you could change anything about your life, what would it be?
My first marriage ended rather badly, but I wouldn’t want to change marrying Ethan since that union produced Chloe. Rodney Earp, my second husband, supposedly a distant relative of the infamous Earp brothers, was great fun for a while, and we’re still friends. So, let’s leave that alone. I enjoyed teaching, and my life is great now in my forties with my travel writing and my brand-new yoga studio. Wyatt is a beautiful, historic town, and I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. Gah, I guess if I could think of something that might have brought me more income, I’d go that direction, but I can’t think what that would be. I guess I didn’t really answer your question. I’m happy where I am.
Tell me about your author.
Brenda Whiteside is an award-winning author who writes romantic suspense and cozy mystery. She’s having a great time with The Chocolate Martini Sisters Mysteries and writing me. Her writing partner Joyce Proell takes care of writing my sister Em’s chapters. She doesn’t know I know, but she sneaks in a few of her traits when she puts my antics on paper. She’s was born and raised in Arizona, so when she writes about my town, Wyatt, she’s comfortable and at home. And P.S., she loves chocolate martinis. The idea for this series I star in came from her twice-a-year celebration with her sister. They toast their birthdays with a chocolate martini in the historical town of Prescott, AZ.
Thank you so much, Nicole, for visiting today!

I started life as an artist, but after taking some evening classes in creative writing, just for fun, I discovered I enjoyed filling a blank page with words more than a canvas with paint.
