This time we meet Mr. DM and he takes us on one heck of a voyage. He is one evil man. Can Ethan stop the fate he has set for the world?
I do love the way Jesse Giles Christiansen writes. The story just flows with almost melodically. He draws us right in and holds on so tight. But his imagination is scary. The plot is an environmental horror story. What happens when everything in the oceans are literally dying?
As always the characters are rich and deep and well developed. This was a more modern telling and time but I did find myself wishing for a little more Captain Shelby and the old Irish dialect that captivated me in the last book. I was pleased to see Morgan, Ethan, not so estranged wife, play an active role in trying to solve the mystery. They truly do belong together.
This Hemingway inspired author has delivered another suspenseful drama with so much depth. This is not the type of story I usually read but Christiansen has awakened my love of maritime mystery…or maybe it was Captain Shelby.

I realized how easy it was to just let go and follow the story where it led. He has topped himself with this story. He immerses the reader right into Shelby’s story. He takes us on a mystical journey back in time, to the mysteries of the sea and the mysteries of Captain Shelby. Christiansen’s words paint incredible pictures in my mind.
