HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
On Tuesday, Mr. Dollycas took Ms. Daisy Mae to the vet for her yearly checkup. Again, she barked at every car on the way there and way back protecting her driver from the cars attacking. The vet says that is part of her breed. She didn’t like the shots, of course, or the blood being taken but all the tests came back fine. A healthy Aussie and this time her weight wasn’t an issue like her first visit but she only had lost one pound. She will like the next appointment even less when she gets spayed and chipped.
Because of the vet appointment, Mr. Dollycas had to make up his work time and we were unable to attend Thomas’s soccer game. He played really well and had a goal. His team won 8-4 and Nana and Papa missed it. He plays again Tuesday and we hope to make it to that one.
Thomas had practice Thursday night and Charlotte and Athena were there to support their big brother. LOL
Friday night found us back under the lights for the first football game of the season. Kaden is now only on Varsity so there is no question that he will play, like last year and MAN DID HE PLAY! I wish we had an instant replay. He blocked a 300 lb guy and basically picked him up and threw him over his shoulder and kept going. You should have seen the smile when he hit the sidelines. I think it was the play before he came inches from getting a quarterback sack. They double-teamed him the rest of the night. A quote from his dad’s Facebook post “Kade had some hard hits and is going to be a real force on defense this year”. He is right. The whole team has some kinks to work out, but I think their future is bright.
Friday night was also Youth Football Night where all the teams from Kindergarten through 8th grade were introduced on the field. Their games are starting soon. Remi is on the 4th-5th grade team and his games start September 9. We also found out when we got there that Remi is one of the waterboys for the Varsity team and he takes his job very seriously. He even made sure the refs were hydrated. This new “job” means he has to be at every game too. I love that is something he and his brother can share.
The icing on the cake for the evening was that Natalie was at the game too. She and her aunt were having quite a discussion on “favorites” when this picture was taken. It was pretty funny. She can make the craziest faces too. Some that remind me so much of her daddy.
Other than that, I read some books, wrote some reviews, and worked on book tours. I also have started to watch a new season of Below Deck Down Under and the competition show The Challenge USA.
How was your week?
