HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!
Last Saturday was our annual family Christmas Cookie Day. A tradition started 20 years ago. I love getting together every year, even though 1 handed, I am pretty much a spectator. It was wonderful that so many of the grands and great-grandchildren were there to join the fun with GG. Throughout the day, all but 5 of the 23 great-grandchildren made an appearance, along with at least one of their parents. Not all made the picture below. My mother-in-law and sisters-in-law do the heavy lifting, preparing the doughs, baking the cut-out cookies so they are ready for the kids to frost, and making sure we have everything we need to make the day a great success. I am so blessed to have them in my life.

Natalie and Remington with their Great Grandmother.
They have officially grown out of their aprons.
Sunday, Mr. Dollycas, Daughter #2, and Korbyn took a road trip for Remi’s first basketball games of the Recreational Season. This also put Daughter #1 in the coach’s seat. They lost the 1st game, won the 2nd game 44-36, and won the 3rd game 33-16. Remi had a good day. Papa remembers he had 14 points in the 2nd game, 10 points in the 3rd game, and “a ton of rebounds”. This Nana stayed home to work on blog tours. 🙁

During the week, we added about 5 more inches of snow, and an icy cold front moved in for the weekend. We are sitting at ZERO degrees with a note that the wind makes it feel like -11 as I type this on Saturday afternoon. We are supposed to be back in the 30s on Tuesday.

Mr. Dollycas and I had our annual eye appointment on Tuesday. We went to a clinic that recently opened by the local hospital. Everyone there was so friendly and took great care of the old disabled people. I really liked the Ophthalmologist. He’s young and explained things so well. Our eyes had small changes, no diabetic damage, and just glimmers of cataracts. Our eyes are so precious. I used to put off going because I hated getting my eyes dilated and hadn’t found a clinic/store I liked. I hope this doctor and his staff stick around a long time. Be sure to get your eyes checked as often as recommended for your age and health.

Thursday, my favorite little man turned 2 months old. He smiles a lot now, and usually when he isn’t smiling, he sticks out his bottom lip and cries (yells at us) to feed him. He is taking shorter naps and wakes fewer times during the night.

We are expected to get 6-9 inches of snow by the time you read this. My body is not a fan of the weather changes or the cold. My back, knees, hands, and elbows are forcing me to take some pain relievers, and there are days when, no matter how many layers I wear that I just can’t get warm. I am totally a summer girl who was clearly born in the wrong state.
